Map Controls
HUDPLS consists of four main controls to explore maps, And they are
Zoom Level control is located on the left side of the map and allows
users to zoom in or zoom out to any of 14 predefined zoom levels (continental to
street level). Click on one of the small squares or the +/- signs to zoom in/zoom
out.
Navigation control is located above the zoom level control and
allows users to move the map right, left, up or down by clicking on one of the directional
arrows.
Overlay and Base Layer control is located on the top right corner
on the map. The overlay control consists of five overlays with check boxes, HUD
Properties, ACA, Revite, Zip Codes and Labels. Each overlay may be made visible
by checking, or invisible by un-checking the box. The two base layers Census Blocks
and Titled GDT may be turned on or off by checking or un-checking the box.
Map Overview control is located on the bottom right corner of the
map, and may be made visible/invisible by just clicking on top right corner of control
+/-. This control shows a higher-level overview of the map with the current map
view highlighted by a dotted red rectangle line. Holding down the Left mouse button
on the rectangle allows the user to move the current view in any direction. Releasing
the left mouse button will refresh the main map page centered on the view in the
Map Overview control.
Shortcuts to explore HUDPLS maps
Zoom to An Area
Hold Shift key + click and hold left mouse button to create a rectangle rubber band
to select an area to zoom too. Releasing the mouse will zoom the map to the selected
area.
Zoom In and Zoom Out
Double clicking on the map will zoom in and re-center the map at the location that
you doubleclicked. By placing your curser over the map and moving the mouse wheel
down you can Zoom in, moving the mouse wheel up zooms out.
ACA/Revite Selected Area Details
Place your curser over an ACA or Revite zone colored in blue/red and click with
the left mouse button to create a list of information regarding the selected area.
Holding the Ctrl key while clicking on multiple ACA or Revite zones will build a
list of all zones selected.
HUD Property
Click on HUD properties on the map and a box will pop up with the address, case
number of the property, and link to view purchase information.
Find By Address
Select find by address tab, follow the example to zoom to the selected address.
A box will pop up with the address, information if the property is in a Revite area,
an ACA area with the ACA name, and Non Profit area with the listed non-profits.
There is a scroll bar on the left of the box to scroll up our down for more information.
Find By Area
Select find by area tab, select State from the drop down list then the county and
the map will automatically zooms to that state and county. If state only is selected
then it will have state boundaries for the state and if county is also selected
with state then it will set to the county boundaries. Information regarding Revitalization
areas, ACA partners, and Non Profits located in the selected States or Counties
will be returned below the map.
